About Jen: Jen works with clients who are 15 years of age and older. Her areas of expertise include trauma, anxiety, stress, depression, relationship issues, chronic illness, grief and loss, life transitions, shame, and boundaries.
Jen is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists, is a member of the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta, and has a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Alberta.
In her past career, she held various leadership roles in the health and wellness industry, where she helped clients foster growth and development of positive outcomes. She continues to be and is dedicated to promoting a holistic approach to wellness in her current role as a therapist. She integrates her previous background to assist clients with health and medical issues such as chronic illness, body shame and disordered eating.
Jen is compassionate, understanding, and supportive towards her clients. Her counseling style is collaborative, engaging, and focused on feedback. She adopts a strength-based, trauma-informed, client-centered approach and utilizes techniques tailored to meet individual needs.
As such she uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based treatment effective in processing trauma and other related issues.
